For the ninth consecutive (year) season, we are proud to renew our invaluable collaboration with the “Carol Wojtyła” Middle School in Montemerlo (Padua). This lasting synergy was born from the remarkable initiative of the teaching staff and the deep faith in the young people by our founder, Francesco della Valle.
Once again this year, we had the pleasure of hosting the third-year classes and their project that breaks the mold of traditional teaching methods: “Women in Re-Search”. This workshop-based study explores the concept of research across various fields of knowledge, highlighting the contributions of historically illuminating and creative female figures.
By retracing the work of two extraordinary sisters – Paola, a multifaceted artist, and Rita Levi Montalcini, Nobel Laureate in Medicine – the students were offered the chance to step into the shoes of researchers. They actively explored the fruitful union between art and science: two worlds that do not oppose each other, but rather work together to dismantle stereotypes and shape critically aware individuals.
For Epitech Group, this specific theme holds particular and profound significance. It was precisely the intellectual dialogue between our founder Francesco della Valle and Rita Levi Montalcini that inspired our own scientific journey and, today, we see their legacy live on inspiring these students’ curiosity and ability to experiment.
Supporting the scientific education of young people is not merely a social responsibility, but a true structural necessity for the future. Advanced biotechnological research requires minds that have developed an unconventional spirit of observation and freedom of thought – exactly the same qualities that the Montalcini sisters embodied and taught to future generations.
A sincere thank you goes to everyone who made this project possible for their extraordinary dedication and passion. A special acknowledgment goes to Piera Levi Montalcini, the niece of Paola and Rita, whose physical presence and personal storytelling made the entire experience even more authentic and meaningful for the students.
