Osteoarticular conditions

The musculoskeletal system, consisting of bones, joints, muscles and tendons, is fundamental for supporting the body. It allows mobility, but can be damaged by osteoarticular conditions including illness, injuries, functional overload, obesity, ageing and unhealthy lifestyles. Damage to these structures can give rise to neuroinflammation, a mechanism that causes peripheral pain and compromises osteoarticular functions. If chronic, this process can involve both the peripheral and the central nervous system, increasing the perception of pain.

Maintaining the integrity and balance between the different components of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems is crucial for their proper function. This helps prevent deterioration and ensures their effectiveness.
