Pain associated with numerous pathologies of the pelvic organs (colon, genital organs, bladder), particularly in women, constitutes a disease entity resulting from peripheral neuroinflammation (neurogenic inflammation) triggered and maintained by non neuronal cells, in particular tissue mast cells.
Tissue neuroinflammation and associated tissue peripheral sensitization via the sensory endings of peripheral nerves co-innervating different pelvic organs (cross-organ sensitization) is responsible for the characteristic algic hyper reactivity spread out over different pelvic area organs and for the associated district oxidative stress.
Under these conditions, it has been shown that the regulatory action exerted by micronized Palmitoylethanolamide on mast cells, through a completely physiological mechanism (ALIA mechanism), in sinergy with the effect on the localized oxidative stress performed by the Polydatin, contributes to the normal functioning of the nociceptive system, particularly at the visceral level.
